Hi, I’m Shalla! A Langley-based family and brand photographer, creative chaos wrangler and professional toddler-chaser (on set and off).
With years of studio experience behind the lens, I now bring that same trained eye for composition to the unscripted beauty of everyday connection.
I find joy capturing the magic of the in-between: the way your toddler’s fingers curl around yours, the subtle shift in your partner’s gaze when they look at you, the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that speak louder than words.
My work is rooted in capturing connection and character and my editing style is organic, slightly moody and a little earthen in tone and texture. I want your images to feel like memories and magic all at once… timeless, emotive and real.
Whether we’re shooting outdoors, in your home, or in my studio, I bring a cheerful, collaborative energy that lets you relax, be yourself and feel truly seen.
I guide each client along so that the only thing you need to worry about is showing up as you are. Capturing candid, captivating moments that reflect your story has become a joyful calling, and one that I’m honoured to turn into keepsakes you’ll share for the rest of your lives.

This package is perfect for smaller families wanting to capture a mix of editorial-style images and documentary-style candid shots.
Duration: up to 20 minutes on-location with up to 5 family members and 2 pets
Wardrobe: 1 outfit per person
Deliverables: Includes a minimum of 20 professionally edited digital images with light skin retouching as needed
Optional Add-Ons: Wardrobe Consulting & Print Ordering -
This style of shoot is suited for capturing your first moments at home with a newborn, celebrating a milestone, engagement, or just a comfy photo session in your natural habitat.
Duration: Up to 30 minutes in your home with up to 5 family members and 2 pets.
Wardrobe: 1 outfit per person
Deliverables: Includes a minimum of 25 professionally edited digital images with light skin retouching as needed.

Celebrate your big news with a session designed to capture the joy and excitement of life’s unforgettable milestone moments such as engagements, save-the-dates, or pregnancy announcements.
Together we’ll focus on capturing heartfelt moments, playful interactions and a few beautifully posed portraits to share your big news!Duration: up to 25 minutes on-location with up to 2 people and up to 2 pets
Wardrobe: 1 outfit per person
Deliverables: Includes 25 professionally edited digital images with light skin retouching as needed

This package is perfect for families wanting to capture a stunning mix of editorial-style photos and documentary-style candid photos shot at multiple areas at one outdoor location.
Duration: 60 minutes on-location with up to 6 family members and 2 pets.
Wardrobe: up to 2 outfits per person
Deliverables: Includes a minimum of 40 professionally edited digital images with light skin retouching as needed and aesthetic tone editing to create gorgeous, timeless photos you'll love to cherish and share.
Optional Services: I can also work with clients and Canadian photo labs to coordinate keepsake print ordering and heirloom album design. -
This package is perfect for large families wanting to capture a series of beautifully composed, group portraits along with a few playful moments.
Duration: 60 minutes on-location with up to 10 family members and 2 pets.
Wardrobe: 1 outfit per person

What you can expect as we work together
✔ A joyful, stress-free experience: No need to worry about how to pose. I can offer simple prompts as needed to guide you along.
✔ Professional Editing: Each photo is enhanced with attention to natural detail, colour balance, skin tones and skin smoothing as needed. Nothing is over-processed.
✔ Quick Turnaround: Receive your edited images promptly to share and enjoy for years to come. After your session, you’ll receive your first couple of sneak peeks a few days following your shoot as I work on the remaining photos to deliver within 2-3 weeks.
✔ Personalized Sessions: Each session is tailored to you. If you have a vision, share it with me! Think of me as your visionary partner in capturing timeless memories.
✔ Versatile Photography Styles: From crisp & focused, to soft & dreamy, to aesthetically deep and dramatic —I capture it all and naturally edit for the mood and organic elements of the scene. If you have a particular vibe in mind, we can certainly discuss it prior to booking!

Sessions typically range from 20-minutes to 2 hours, depending on the type of shoot you opt for and how many people (or pets) will be present.
While I book within dedicated time slots, my goal is to ensure that we have fun capturing plenty of beautiful shots without feeling rushed. -
We can reschedule if the weather isn’t cooperating. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and touch base with you before the shoot.

The turnaround time can vary based on the duration of the shoot and number of photos, but typically you can expect to receive the final images within 2-3 weeks after the shoot with your first sneak peek image the day following your shoot!

While you would typically receive the final images within 2-3 weeks after your shoot, I can offer expedited processing at an additional fee of $100 per 20 images.

Rest Up & Relax: A good night’s sleep means you’ll wake up looking and feeling your best. Try to keep your day as relaxed and stress-free as possible, especially leading up to your session. If you feel yourself getting nervous, just remember it's a fun experience and I'll be here to help guide you along!
Pick Your Spot: I can work with you to choose a location that you're sure to love! Whether it’s a place with special meaning or just somewhere beautiful, we'll pick a spot that feels right. I'll be able to direct on site to help position you for the best lighting.
Bring a Little You: Have a favourite item or something special? Bring it along! Personal touches like a book, a blanket to lay on, fresh long stem flowers or even your dog can make the photos even more "you." (Just remember to bring treats and a poop bag for your dog!)

All images are professionally retouched and edited only to enhance the overall quality and aesthetic of the image that is complimentary to you, the scene and my photography style.
Edits may include colour correction, removal of temporary skin blemishes, object removal in the event that something distracting was captured in the background, along with any other necessary adjustments needed to make your photos pop, yet remain true-to-life. When it comes to editing client physiques, I will not edit bodies or prominent features unless explicitly requested and is within my area of expertise. If you have any special requests for retouching, be sure to let me know prior to our session. -
Totally get it –I have been known to be pretty camera shy myself, but I have some cute prompts up my sleeve to help you feel more at ease and relaxed during our shoot.
All you need to worry about is showing up and having fun, and I can help direct as needed. Having a relationship with a great photographer with a keen eye for detail and composition makes all the difference when capturing truly wonderful photos you're sure to love!

Yes! While I provide you with a minimum set of photos based on your package selection, I often find there are plenty of other beautiful shots that you may also like to see that I will include in your gallery!
When you receive a link to your gallery, you’ll be able to select which photos you'd like to download that are included with your package, with any extra photos available to purchase at additional fee (around $15 per additional digital photo).
I also assist my clients with ordering stunning framed prints, canvases and heirloom albums. -
Absolutely! You can provide me with any inspo photos you may have so we can ensure we’re on the same page.
As a creative, I will have my own signature style that I include with each image, but I am happy to discuss any additional aspects you have in mind as well!

Solid, neutral colours and classic, timeless styles usually work best, while avoiding outfits that feature busy or intricate patterns. If you would like, I am more than happy offer personalized styling recommendations with you beforehand to help select the perfect outfit that enhances your natural beauty and fits the theme of your shoot.

If you need to reschedule, just give me as much notice as possible and we’ll find a new date that works. If you need to cancel, please let me know at least 7 days in advance.
Please note that your booking fee for mini sessions, or deposit for full sessions is non-refundable, but can be applied to another shoot.
